YMCA Family Fun Zone is FREE!

Posted

By now you've no doubt heard about VeggieTales Live: God Made You Special coming to Nashville in March.  But did you know about the free YMCA Family Fun Zone open to everyone before Bob and Larry take the stage?  Did we say it's free?

Starting at 2pm March 25th, you and your family can enjoy inflatables, parachute games, soccer ball competitions, fitness dice, hula hoops, balloon artists and a whole lot more*, even if you don't have plans to attend VeggieTales Live at 3:30 that day.

It all happens just outside Allen Arena on the Lipscomb University campus.  And if the weather isn't cooperating that day, don't worry.  There's a plan to move everything indoors in the event of rain.

So, mark it on your calendar now.  The free and open-to-the-public YMCA Family Fun Zone kicks off at 2pm.  And, if you'd like to attend VeggieTales Live: God Made You Special starting at 3:30pm, you can get your tickets here.

You Did It Again!

Posted

If you were a family who participated in our Soldier's Child campaign this year, we owe you a big thanks!

In November, our stations in Nashville, TN and Clarksville,TN partnered with the organization, A Soldier’s Child, in hopes of finding sponsors for 200 military families stationed at Ft. Campbell.  Sponsors were asked to provide Christmas gifts for the children of these families.  Each Ft. Campbell family in the program had at least one parent serving overseas who wasn’t going to be home for Christmas.

We are thrilled to report that every family and their children – over 600 kids in all – was sponsored!  Last month each family, along with staff from WAY-FM and A Soldier’s Child, gathered at First Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN for a Christmas celebration like none other.  Mere words cannot describe the joy in these kid’s faces that day.

Thank you for playing a role in making this possible.

As you may have heard by now, 88.7 WAY-FM has teamed with Oasis Church in Nashville to host this year's Chick-fil-A Leadercast.  And Leadercast 2011 is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

Broadcast live via satellite from Atlanta, Chick-fil-A Leadercast is a one-day leardership event featuring 11 of the world's most influential voices speaking on issues that affect you on a daily basis.  This year, Leadercast happens on Friday, May 6th.

This year's speaker line up includes:

Dave Ramsey - Personal money management expert, national radio personality and best selling author of The Total Money Makeover

Dan Cathy - President and COO of Chick-fil-A, Inc

Robin Roberts - Anchor of ABC's "Good Morning America"

Seth Godin - Entrepreneur, marketing expert and best selling author of 12 books including Linchpin

John Maxwell -  Leadership expert and best selling  author of The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership

Still wondering if Chick-fil-A Leadercast is right for you or your team?  We think this video from Erin Schreyer and her experience hosting and attending Leadercast sums it up pretty well.

How about you?  Will you attend this year?  Your team?  What do you hope to get out of the conference?   Which speaker are you most looking forward to hearing from?  Let us know in the comments below.
